Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome at HCM.

It looks from your details that you may have strain of your muscles near your shoulder blade.This may happens with muscles near the shoulder blade ,which are rhomboids muscles.You should do following to have relief in this-

-Apply warm water packs at that area.

--Take a good analgesic like advil or aleeve.I used to add some muscle relaxant preparation like tramadol in such severe cases.You may have this on prescription.

-Avoid over head elevation of your upper limb.

Hope this will help you.

With best wishes.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
It seems from the description that you have scapular myalgia / muscle spasm which typically produces pain in one particular movement involving that muscle.
Nothing much to worry about as it will subside with the following measures -
* Intermittant hot fomentation to relax the stiff muscles
* Analgesic medications
* muscle relaxant gel applications
If you dont find any response, then consult an orthosurgeon. Hope this helps
