I an 29 and a woman. i have 3 children. the Day before i start my period i have left arm and shoulder pain and once period starts it continues , today i got same pains in my back as well! Would you have any idea why im haveing pains in arm shoulder withenstrual cycle? ive had the same pains with my periods only a couple times just like this one!
Hi and thanks for the query,
Pain just before period might be certainly of inflammatory origin. The association of this pain with menses is actually a rare, but possible association. Doing an X ray of this region, coupled with markers of inflammation to ascertain the actual cause might b very necessary. Consulting your rheumatologist and gynecologist for proper evaluation and determination of any possible links might be necessary. An abdominal ultrasound might be necessary at some point in your evaluation.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
