Having Irregular Menstrual Cycles And Took Clomid. Cramping Like Headache. Need Advise?

I have always had irregular menstrual cycles that usually occur every two-three months. They last about five days with normal bleeding and normal cramping, they just seem to come when they please. My last period was June 23rd (induced 14 days after my last Provera pill) and then took Clomid 50 mg for the first time on day five of my period (my husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year now). July 29th I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative, but my period did not come, so I must not have ovulated with Clomid. Four weeks ago (August 19th) I had some light spotting (light pinkish/brownish) and again the next week. I suspected implantation bleeding, but wanted to wait for more symptoms before taking another pregnancy test. Yesterday, I experienced more spotting (darker brown) and took a pregnancy test, it was negative. Five hours later, I thought I started my period, but I only bled for about eight hours before the bleeding stopped. I had little cramping but now have a headache. I am 23 years old, good weight, have normal hormone levels (according to day three blood work), and everything on my ultrasounds came out saying I have healthy anatomy. Despite irregular cycles, I have never spotted before and have never had a period that lasted only one day, and I am curious as to why this would occur. Any clue as to what could be going on with my body? Thank you for taking the time to read this, your help and guidance is much appreciated.

Hi,
If you have normal hormonal profile, it is more likely that you could be ovulating irregularly. Also, you should get a hormonal profile during the interval period also. If your sonogram has excluded any pelvic abnormalities, there is no reason to worry about the chances of conception. Please make sure the tubal patency is also tested preferably through laparoscopy. The ovulation pattern should be monitored and timed intercourse followed after assessing the male factor also. Induction of ovulation should follow after all these procedures. Your menstrual irregularity appears to be due to irregular endometrial shedding as in a metropathic cycle. You should improve with a course or two of hormones before planning any further treatment. Hope your query is clarified. Take care.
