Having Hot And Cold Flushes, Stomach Pains And Frequent Urination With Under Active Thyroid Problem. What Does It Mean?
Good evening,, I have an underactive thyroid problem, plus i have to take 2 blood pressure tablets with levothyroxine on a daily basis,,I have also left branch bundle block..,my gp has said my blood has high iron in it, tonite i feel really ill,,i have had a banging headache for 3 days and the only thing that helps is to sleep it off, I am sweaty, hot and cold flushes, lower stomach pain, keep urinating frequently so is distrurbing my natural sleep pattern, the tiredness is exhausting, and i am feeling depressed..can you explain whats going on with me..please?

Dear. Excess iron in blood cause iron to be deposited in multiple areas of body including thyroid causing hypothyroidism. At the same time in deposition can occur in liver pancreas. Pituitary testes etc. Because of this you can have multiple hormone deficiencies. You may consider meeting an endocrinologist who deal with haemochromatosis. You may need checking testosterone levels and cortisol levels
