Having Herpes Outbreak. Clitoral Area Is Swollen And Itchy. Is It Due To Herpes Or Yeast Infection?

Hi, I have herpes simplex 1 and I am having an outbreak. It has been a week already and I only have a couple sores which seem to be going away. However, my clitoral area is very swollen and red and VERY itchy! No bumps or sites though. Could this just be from the herpes? Or could I also have a yeast infection? And is there annnnnything I can do to treat the itching? The itchy sensation has been going on for about 4 days now and it's almost unbearable!! :(

Hi thanks for writing here.

Itching with redness and swelling suggest angioedema.

It can be due to allergy.

Yeast infection do not manifest in this way.

You need to take oral antihistaminic like allegra 180 mg.Consult a dermatologist if there is no relief.

Hope this will help you.Take care.
