Hi, if your husband is not on any medication .Before goin for the colonoscopy like procedure, you may try some laxatives along with high fibre diet including green leafy vegetables and plenty of water intake minimum 4 litres a day .Is he having any other medical history like Hypertension ar Diabetes etc.You may also try homeopathy, it works wonderful in such cases. For further assistane if you need any help you may contact me.Best luck

Hi Daya, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
You haven't said if your Husband is on any medications and what is his age? Because there are many causes for constipation like Diabetes Mellitus, few medicines like anti depressants, magnesium deficiency, poor diet which is devoid of fiber, not taking enough fluids including water, intestinal gas, bowel obstruction and others. He needs a thourough evaluation by a Gastroenterologist at the earliest and if necessary a Colonoscopy will always be fine to rule out if there is any problem with his Large Intestine like bowel obstruction. Do not give him further laxatives and fix an appointment with a Gatroenterologist. Let him take plenty of fiber rich foods and drink plenty of water. Ask him to exercise regularly this will increase his bowel movements.
Good Luck.
