Having Cataract And Diabetic. Treatment For Surgery?

hi my mother is having cataract and she want to undergo the cataract surgery but she is diabetic and i am unable to select the proper lens for her. because her left eye got operated for the cataract before but with little vision only as she had a problem with the same eye's optic nerve. now her total vision depends on the right eye which got cataract. so i want u to suggest proper lens for her to have better vision than before and it is compulsory for her as she can't see properly with left eye even after treatment.

Hello

You should consult an endocrinologist to know the level of blood sugar etc and any damage to other organs of body including eye. Depending upon the clearance for surgery by the endocrinologist, you should consult an eye surgeon who will guide you about the type of lens and surgery that is needed for cataract after carefully examination of your eyes. Prognosis regarding vision after cataract extraction will depend on condition of your retina.
