Having bursitis in the knee. What exercises would be good for bursitis?

I have bursitis in the left side of my knee . My doctor says that walking and strengh training [except for two moves] will be Ok for me to continue to do. He said that bending my leg backwards and sitting cross legged [which I love to do!] are not good ideas. My question is ----would swimming and water exercises be good for my type of bursitis?? Thank you, Pat Barone

Thank you for writing.
knee bursitis needs to strengthening of quadricep muscles and hamstring muscles so first do that strength training exersises for both legs daily thrice a day to avoid strain on your knees...
Bursitis patient should not stand prolongly for a long time, should not sit on floor, have to use western toilet and should not squat.
Swimming is the best exercise for every one but do warm up exercise befor you start swimming and do it under the guidance of couch only and dont do for a long time as it may hurts you so increase time duration day by day
