Haven't had my period for past two years. Have cervical polyp. I want to know if there are other options beside surgery to remove polyp?

I am 56 years old, havent had my period for past two years, but for past month and a half i have been spotting my doctor did sono & thinks i have crvical polyp. the papa test & urine test was negative. he wants to do a surgery but i want to know if there are other options beside surgery to make sure if there is a polyp and if it has to be removed
