Today, she told me that now the back of her throat is swollen and the white spot is still there but there is still no pain. We don t know if this is tonsillitis . And she just told me that the only pain she has is when she opens her mouth her head , jaw, and under her tongue hurt. no where near her throat and her face is sore .

ENT Specialist 's  Response

Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum,
There seems to be no major problem associated with the description you have given. The whiter spot can be a mere blocked tonsillar crypt. The swelling/pain can be an early symptom of viral infection. No need to worry, advise her to drink plenty of warm water. If the pain persists please consult a good ENT specialist.

Take care

Hi! I was wondering if you could possibly give me some advice. My right tonsil has been swollen for about 2 months now with a white spot. Its not very painful unless i yawn it just feels like i constantly have something stuck in my throat. I ve went to the ER twice, as i dont have healthcare to go see a specialist, and they told me both times it was pharyngitis and prescribed me antibiotics which seemed to help for a little bit but then it just went right back to being swollen. I m 22 years old and a smoker which kind of scares me because i googled about it and one possibility was cancer. What does this sound like to you? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am experiencing some pain in my throat, I used a flash light on my phone and saw that there were whitish small spots on my tonsils. I was looking up information and it seemed that it could be a few things such as herpes or tonsil stones. I feel that I am have symptoms of both but am unsure. Can you help clarify to a certain extent without seeing them in person? Thank you

Is it normal to have swollen tonsills with no pain? They are wrinkely and had a few white spots which lasted a couple of days but now only a small patch. Prior to the tonsils swelling I did have an afternoon of feeling a little under the weather with hot flushes but that went quickly. I m worrying myself stupid trying to diagnos myself on here.

I had really bad tonsillitis over the weekend starting on a friday that included many tonsil stones, fever, chills, irritated throat, swollen lymp nodes on left side of neck. My throat only hurt in one distinct spot on the left side in front of my tonsil on that arched flap of skin, which was/is red and irritated looking. It is now wednesday and I have been taking ammoxicillin since sunday and everything has been healing nicely, but I haven't noticed a significant change in the amount of pain coming from this spot. Is this unusual with tonsillitis? Should I be worried. The spot hurts a tad less than it did this weekend, so, techinically, I guess it's getting a tab bit better, but it still worries me a little...
