Have Suffered From Dysphagia, EGD Found Minor Narrowing, Dilations. Is There A Chance Of HPV?

Have suffered from dysphagia off and on for years, with it getting much worse in recent months. EGDs found some minor narrowing and the two dilations I have had done have only helped temporarily.

Going back in to a GI specialist soon for a 2nd opinion, but just found out that my girlfriend has high risk HPV. Any chance the HPV (which I likely have) could be linked to my swallowing problems?

Hi and thanks for using this panel for your health concerns.
I am sincerely sorry to hear about what you are experiencing now.

Dysphagia has several possible causes. HPV has not been specifically linked to this. However, HPV has been recently linked to the development of Ear, Nose and throat cancers.

For now, i will most likely say NO unless new evidence to suggest the contrary comes up.

Hope this helps. Wish you a good health and follow up with your GI doctor!
