Have Stabbing Pain From Shoulders Till The Ears. No Medication Till Now. What Can Be The Problem?

I get stabbing pains from my shoulder up to behind my ear. It has been going on for about six months. My ear feels like it is plugged or I need to yawn to clear it, but this does not work. I have had both hears checked to no avail.
My husband massages my shoulders across my shoulder blades and up my neck sides. It does give relief.

Hello,
You may be having pain which is due to any changes in your cervical spine.
It can happen due to pressure on the nerves arising from the neck region. You have not mentioned your age and daily physical activities which increase your pain.
I would suggest you see a orthopedic surgeon for a proper clinical examination and get X ray of neck (cervical spine) done if they think it necessary.
Hope this helps.
