Hi I am a 30 year old lady whom 4 3/4 weeks started off with sore throat. there was no puss there after I attended walk in centre. now 3 weeks later I still have sore throat, feels like l have frog in my throat. on a night my mouth goes dry and I wake up to brown sticky stuff on roof of my mouth. ive started with hot drinks and water but nothing is moving it????? I've had throat lozenges gaggeled with warm salt and water PLEASE HELP
Hello, Drink lots of water . You must get your throat examined by ENT specialist to get tonsillar hypertrophy (enlargement) ruled out. If ok then you get your nose examined to see if there is any infection in nose and sinuses from which infection /discharge is falling on the throat.which is causing the sore throat . And the most importantly take care of reflux of food from stomach which is more in night -- so take Tab. Proton pump inhibitors +Prokinetics before meals Syp. antacid gel before meals multivitamin twice daily Keep head end of bed elevated. Avoid alcohol, Smoking Do brisk walking daily Go for walk after dinner Avoid spicy food Avoid late night coffee
