Have Severe Tracheal Pain, Intermittent Burning Sensation, Palpitation Around Cricoid Cartilage. What Maybe Wrong?

I have severe tracheal (not esophageal or throat/larynx) pain that had sudden onset after having had intermittent, substernal "burning or aching" the prior 2 days. My trachea is extremely tender to palpation (also movement) from approximately my cricoid cartilage extending inferiority.
I have had no trauma to the area and do not have any cold/flu signs or symptoms.
