Psychiatrist Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar's  Response
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

Nasal septum deviation is a problem which can be cured permanently only with surgery. Using nasal drops or nasal sprays will give only temporary relief.

Like you doctors have advised you, it is not advisable to use vasoconstrictor nasal drops (like Otrivin, Nasivion, etc.) continuously for prolonged periods since it can cause rebound nasal congestion. You can avoid this by alternatively using normal saline nasal drops rather than vasoconstrictor nasal drops.

Wish you all the best.
