Have Sensation In The Middle Of The Cheek. Had A Broken Jaw And Titanium Plates Was Placed Earlier. What To Do?
I suffered a broken jaw and had titanium plates placed on my jaw about 5, almost 6, weeks ago. No wires or elastics. However, since doing the stretching about 3 weeks ago, i have some sensation in the middle of my left cheek. I am not sure if it is the bone and the muscle. I am screwed together so i doubt it. but any input would be appreciated.
According to your clinical symptoms i suspect that there can be any trauma to the nerve at the time of the surgical procedure, it will take a time of 3-6 months to get all the sensations to normal. I would suggest you to take multivitamin suplements and maintain a good oral hygiene. If the symptoms worsen a thorough clinical evaluation by the concerned Oral Surgeon is required, if necessary take an OPG radiograph.
Take care!
