I have been suffering with recurring knee pain, on my right knee, I cannot kneel on it and have pain when bending the joint when sitting, the knee cap keeps being covered in bruising (not caused by any impact or accident) the bruising itself isnt painful but the joint feels swollen and constantly clicks loudly.

Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having osteo-artheritis and degenerative changes in knee joint giving this problem.
Go for x-ray knee joint.
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Ok and take care.
