Have Painful Localized Palable Lymph Node On Armpit. On Antibiotics. Blood Shows Infection. Suggestions?

Hi. My 4 yr old daughter has a painful localized palable lymph node on her left armpit that is 3cm. She is taking oral antibiotics and has had a shot of antibiotics but it is not getting any better. She has had a low grade fever up to 100.4 on and off. Her blood work shows no catscratch fever but shows some type of infection by an elevated blood count. What could this possibly be?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
It is difficult to answer this question without knowing the actual test reports.
However if the swelling is persisting with antibiotics an FNAC or an excision biopsy should help in the diagnosis.I hope a blood culture was sent.
It could be any infection in the vicinity of the lymph gland or a part of a systemic disease.
Consult your doctor if the problem persists.
If you have any further queries you are free to consult me.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing a speedy recovery.
Have a nice day.
