Have Pain On Top Of The Knees. Have Diabetics, Diabetic Neuropathy And Fibromyalgia. How To Distinguish?

I had a cardiac ablation back in August of 2012. I had a bleed on both sides. Bruising all the way down from groin to ankles. I have type 2 diabetes and am on insulin. I have been diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy. I also have fibromyalgia. The top of my knees are purple ( since the surgery) I have pain and burning tingling you name it I've got it. How do I distinguish between the neuropathy and fibro?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain on top of the knees could be related to arthritis or diabetic neuropathy. An MRI scan of the joint will help in detecting any inflammatory changes of the joint.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
