Have pain in left ovary. Had Cyst burst. Taking pill to prevent cyst. Suggestions?

Hello. I have had pains mostly on my left ovary. I had been complaining it about it last year and then ended up having a cyst burst. I went on the pill after the burst cyst to hopefully not get anymore. However I am starting to get pains in my left ovary again while on the pill. My Gyno says I shouldn't be ovulating and not have a cyst. Is that true? I am scheduled for another internal sonogram. Should I consult some sort of specialist since I feel my Gyno is very lax on this?

Thanks for the query.
Usually oral contraceptive pills will suppress the internal hormones and maintain in low levels.
So ovulation do not occur usually. But rarely it can occur.
Sometimes adhesions due to previous rupture or pelvic inflammatory disease can also cause these symptoms.
So after undergoing ultrasound the possible cause for your pain can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.
