Have Pain Around Heart Area, Difficulty In Breathing After Getting Hit On Chest. How To Overcome This?
Hello Dr. Grief, I was playing basketball today and one of the guys elbowed hit directly to my chest where the heart is located. I did not feel much pain at the moment but after an hour I am now feeling painful around the heart area. If I am trying to breath a little heavy or if I am making a movement it hurts right in the area. What should I do now?

From history it seems that you got heavy strain on your sternum and coastal ribs due to hard hit.
Risk of having fracture of ribs are there.
Go for x-ray chest to rule out fracture.
If there is no fracture, nothing to worry.
Take NSAID medicine for few days.
Apply some analgesic cream locally.
Ok and take care.
