Have Muscle Weakness, Sorness In Legs And Arms. Taking Coenzyme And Atoravstatin. Suggestion?
I have muscle weakness and sorness in my legs and arms, having trouble getting our of chairs and navagating the stairs, and movement in my legs will wake me at night as they are so sore. I am currently taking coenzyme Q 10 and ceased taking atoravstatin last Sunday but still I am most uncomfortable. What can I do to get back to normal? I used to work out at the gym with weights and walk 3 miles a day. I walked 3.8 mph on the treadmill and now am only able to go 3.2 mph.
Muscle pains and soreness is a common side effect of Atorvastatin. Generally these are harmless and will settle down slowly.
If the pains are so incapacitating, either you reduce the dose of Atorvastatin or switch over to ROSUVASTATIN after consulting your treating physician. Its the only way to tackle the problem.
Coenzyme Q10 or Ubiquinone is said to provide some symptom relief from muscle pains when taken along with statins. You can also try Vitamin E & L-carnitine combination medicines for your muscle pains.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
