Have Mucus Plugs In Lung And COPD. Taking Prednisone, Advair, Spiriva. Help

I have mucus plugs in my lung; feels like my right one. I am 68 and have had COPD for 20 years. My pulmonologist said that I should see a speech therapist. She said that anyone can make the wheezy sound and that it doesn t sound any different and a speech therapist would teach me how to control my breathing . I am down on the floor trying to cough this up at home. Finally when I do, the mucus is yellow. I am on 20 mg. daily of prednisone, plus Advair and Spiriva. I am discouraged that she sees this as all in my head when I know the difference. I know bronchitis the minute it starts. What now?

GET YOUR PFT done again and see whether how much of the obstructive component is reversible. I think if the wheezing is still continued with spiriva and advair as well as steroids then its a bad irreversible disease.
There are newer medicines like roflumilast that may help reducing the steroid dose
