Have Migraine, Sore Throat, Acid Reflux, Ear Pain, Cough, Swollen Tongue. Help
Ok I am a 55 yr old female- I have severe migraines - I have lots of chronic pain all the time. Most all my medical problems came after my husband and I were hit by a DUI driver ( dec .6,2002) my husband was killed and I was severely injured, I also was pronounced dead at the scene, I have gone through muliple surgeries and pt over the past 101/2 years. I am overweight ,under a lot of stress , have very high blood pressure I take 4 types of bp meds 2 x aday and my bp still stays ranges from 181/107- 248/139 --- I take Zoloft for depression --- so I have acid reflux, I have had a very sore throat and its hard for me to swallow, my glands are swollen and hurt to touch. I have a lot of pain in my ears, I also have a cough so bad that when I start coughing I sometimes cough for a couple of hours and it gets so bad I start throwing up. I have taken 3 different rounds of antibiotics in the last 2 months, when I eat things get caught in my throat and won t go down. My dad had esophagile cancer and Parkinson s . A couple of weeks ago my tounge was very swollen and had a large knot in it, I couldn t talk it hurt so much. The ER doctor said I needed to be checked by an ENT dr. But I can t aford too, because I have no insurance and can t get any ... I m so scared about my throat problems, what with this information can you tell me I am so sorry for wasting your time I didn t realized I had to pay and I can t afford too! Thank you anyway

By your query it is clear that you are having migraine, sore throat and ear ache along with painful nodes on neck and recently you have developed a painful lump in tongue.
Since you are hypertensive and having depression as well and taking regular treatment.
For your throat problem I am suspecting these possibilities -
1- Acute pharyngitis with lymphadenitis.
2- Neoplasm tongue with pharyngitis with cervical lymphadenitis.
So to confirm diagnosis you should do-
a- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.
b- FNAC from neck glands.
c- Pharyngoscopy and biopsy from lump of tongue.
By the inferences of these investigations and good clinical examination final diagnosis will be made and may be plan for treatment.
