Have Migraine, Headache. History Of Discectomy And Corpectomy. Head Pain After Having Sex

I have chronic migraines. I experience a headache everyday. When I was a child I fell from my mothers car head first and at 51 I am still having these. Recently, like in the last month, I have started getting them in the back of my skull and top of my head and in the last week, I have been getting them after sex. I have had a c4 corpectomy, c5 6 7 discectomy with anterior fusion this past January. I am getting very worried.

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

Migraines are of greater intensity if there is previous history of head injury.
Migraine is triggered by some factors. Common ones are :-
1. Lack of sleep.
2. Missed meal.
3. Physical/emotional exertion(including sex).
4. Excess of alcohol/smoking, if any.
5. Excess of dairy products.
6. Change in climate.

You should get yourself clinically examined by a Neurosurgeon.

Painkillers like Ibuprofen one tablet twice a day along with an antacid like Omeprazole 40 mg and Domperidone 10 mg can be taken for relief from pain.
You can discuss with your doctor for starting Flunarizine 10 mg at night for prevention of migraines.
Any medicine should be taken under medical supervision only.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
