Have Knee Pain. No Medication Till Now. What Is The Solution For The Knee Pain?

Hi. I am Esther and I'm 19 years old. My knee has been hurting for the past few days and it isn't so bad that I can't walk but it just doesn't feel right. I have been doing exercise lately so I though maybe it could be that, but now when I stand up straight it feels like there is liquid running out of it, but there isn't. So do you think this is just because i have bad/weak knees or should i get it checked out?
It just frustrates me because I have it more often but now it's just getting worse and worse..
and I'm so young...
thank you

Hello Esther & thanks for your Q on HCM
I feel you should get knee examination done by a DR / can see if physiotherapist will be able to help you to get some exercise regime to strengthen knee muscles.
If you are getting give way/locking symptoms - you must get scan done to look out for any internal loose bodies
Thank you & hope you get better soon

Hi, thanks for asking in Healthcare Magic.

You may be having either bursitis and loose bodies in the knee. Loose bodies may be without symptoms or may present with pain and locking sensation. It is also accompanied with the sensation of something moving inside the joint that tends to slip away.

Bursitis occurs due repeated friction on knee and undue bending of knee. It causes swelling and pain. The swelling may be either in front side of knee or in the inner aspect of knee depending upon the type of bursitis.

X-Ray will confirm the diagnosis. Do not worry. Both conditions are treatable. You should consult an orthopedician for further course of treatment.

I hope this is useful to you.
