Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, your mom might be having osteoarthritis of the knee (worn out knee) which is really troublesome for elderly people for doing activities of daily living. The preliminary treatment would be analgesic preparations (which are already being given), physiotherapy for the knee joints , local application of analgesic gels & avoiding extreme flexion of the knees. If this regimen fails to give substantial relief, then you should consult an orthopedic surgeon and take his advice. Good day
