Have Had Chronic Cough, Mucus From Nose, Flaked With Black Streaks. Given Cefuroxime. What Is Wrong?

Hello,
I have had a chronic cough off and on for about 3 months. When it first started, I went in to my physician and he gave me a z-pack. Didn't work, so I wet somewhere else the next month and he gave me cefuroxime. I still have the productive cough with light yellow mucus. When I can actually get mucus to come OUT of my nose, it is sometimes flaked with black "streaks". They do not look like blood. They smear if I touch them.

Hi,
It seems that your problem requires evaluation.
you may require few investigations and afterwards we can get clue regarding your problem and treatment accordingly.
Go for Complete blood count, particular Eosinophil count.
go for X-ray chest for having any pathology in lungs.
In your case Eosinophilic bronchitis is more likely.
So after all investigations consult your doctor and go for treatment accordingly.
Avoid cold drinks, junk food.
Ok and take care.
