Have Enlarged Breast, Bloated Stomach And Gained Weight. Had A PAP Smear. What Can This Be?

I have been noticing my breast have enlarged and my stomach has been bloated. I thought I was putting on weight but I don't think it is that. I am worried because I just got a PAP smear and my doctor is requesting me to come back due to test results. I had a hysterectomy, cervix and uterus only. Can you speculate what might I be going thru?

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

Your age was important in such a query. But I shall try to provide you with an answer with the information provided.

Breast enlargement and abdominal bloating could be related to your menstrual cycle/hormonal cause, and is more commonly experienced in women expecting a period or around menopause (this of course can be considered only if you are around the age of menopause, not otherwise). But as you have undergone a hysterectomy, there will be a hormonal imbalance, which can easily result in the symptoms you are experiencing.

Do not worry about your PAP smear, it is good practice to conduct a PAP smear every now and then. Doctor's prefer discussing everything with the patient in the form of a one on one discussion, and not over the telephone. I am sure there is nothing alarming to worry about. Visit your doctor and take all the advise he/she has for you, seriously. Best of luck.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
