Have Endometriosis, Heavy Bleeding, Clot Formation, Regular Periods. Any Ideas?

on visualising a cervix it appears to have extra tissue growth, it does not look like a lump, as such, on R anterior side of cervix, Oz is normal, vaginal vault is short with small vaginal opening, she was diagnosed with endometriosis 15 years ago , does experience heavy bleeding with clot formation and menstruation cycle is regular, she has one child delivered through c/section 6 years ago becuase dilation ceased at 4 cm. It appears to be more like extra tissue growth anatomicaly, there is no sign of prolapse, Any ideas? I am a RN pap provider and have not seen this before. thank you

Hi and thanks for the query,

It would be interesting having a critical evaluation of the bleeding. The growth at the level of the cervix could be tumor, malignant or benign. Getting some tissue from this mass and examining it is important, for it could explain bleeding. Endometriosis presents itself with pain.

I would suggest a uterine biopsy, to examine for problem or tumor of the uterus that can explain bleeding. Testing for STIs and getting an ultrasound done is very important. The ultrasound could also show presence or absence of fibroids, common causes of bleeding too. I suggest you consult a gynecologist. Kind regards.
