Have Eczema On Legs And Arms. Itchy Skin, Welts After Scratching. Cause?
I have eczema that mostly effects my legs from the knee down & on the tops of my arms from the elbow down. Usually when summer comes I look forward to the sun making my eczema better. This year I have noticed that every time I come outside my whole body starts to itch & when I scratch it, I get big welts on the skin. What do u think is causing this. I try not to scratch but my whole body itches so bad!!!

cause of eczema is unknown but household irritants,poor hygiene etc, may flare up the condition.To prevent damage to the skin from itching you may use the folling
-antihistaminics
-hydrocortisone cream
-ice therapy
these will help you to reilef from itching for a while
for severe eczema higher steroid creams like clobetasol propionate may be used.
avoid dryness of skin and use moisturisers.Oral or parenteral steroids are needed for better improvements but there are more sideeffects with that.Thank you.
