Have Duodenal Mass Above Small Intestine. Meaning Of Pancreatic Parenchymal Abnormalities?

I have a Duodenal mass above the small intestine . Upper endo biopsie showed that it was benign. they found pancreatic parenchymal abnomalities consisting of hyperechoic ans hyperechoic foci were noted in the entire pancreas . There was no sign of significant pathology in the common bile duct. What does this mean and how is it treated?

Hi and thanks for the query,

The pancreas is a gland in the body with main function secretion of digestive enzymes and hormones (mainly insulin for glucose control). Pancreatic parenchymal abnormalities simple imply that the tissue of this gland have certain features not normally or usually observed. It might therefore be important to know exactly what this could be.

Blood tests to evaluate the function of the pancreas could therefore be useful. Amylases is a common enzyme measures. A Ct scan at times could be useful to visualize the state of surrounding abdominal structures. The opinion of your gatsroenterologist is, in my opinion, most welcome under these circumstances. Kind regards.
