Have Depression. On Paxill, Lorazepam. Feel Isolated In Morning. Attended Therapy Sessions. Re-diagnosed?

I HAVE SUFFERED DEPRESSION OFF & ON FOR MANY YEARS AND WAS ABLE TO MANAGE IT WITH MEDS.KEEPING BUSY & ACTIVE. I AM NOW ON PAXILL 1- 20MG AND TAKE .05 TABLET OF LORAZEPAM AS NEEDED, THE MORNINGS ARE THE WORST, I AM ISOLATING AND HAVE NO ENTHUSIASIM TO KEEPING MY HOUSE IN ORDER,COOKING ETC. WHICH ALL USED TO BE IMPORTANT TO ME. I LOST MY HUSBAND 3 YRS. AGO BUT FEEL MY CONDITION IS NOT GRIEF. AND REALIZE I NEED TO ADJUST TO LIVING ALONE. I DO NOT HAVE ANY FINANCIAL WORRIES, AND HAVE LOTS OF SUPPORT FROM FAMILY & FRIENDS MY FAMILY DOCTOR HAS BEEN VERY PATIENT WITH ME. ALSO HAVE ATTENDED THERAPY SESSIONS IN A GROUP . ANY SUGGESTIONS PERHAPS I NEED TO BE REDIAGNOSED.

Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Symptoms you have mentioned clearly indicate that you are significantly depressed and probably not responding to 20 mg per day of Paxil. It is a common finding that patient may stop responding to a particular antidepressant after taking it for some time.

Just discuss with your doctor about increasing the dose of Paxil and most likely you will increase a great improvement in your symptoms very shortly.

Kind regards

Vikas
