Have continuous eye twitching. Any solution?

So I ve had this eye twitch for nearly three weeks now, I m 16 and nothing has changed in my daily routine to give my lower right eye to twitch. I m not over tired because I m getting at least 8 hours sleep each night, I m not stressed and my caffeine intake hasn t changed so none of these three things could possibly be a reason. The twitch is clearly visible in the mirror as well as in my own vision- friends and family can both see it and they don t have to be standing right in front of me strainging to because it s that clear. The twitch looks like a pulse and in my vision in particular I see the bottom of my eye-lid go up and down very quickly. I ve tried eating bananas, sleeping, massaging it, everything and it just won t stop. I have a head cold at the moment but I know it s not that because the twitching started atleast a week before that. The only stress I have is this eye twitch i REALLY want it to stop- can someone PLEASE give me a way to make it stop without having to go into the doctors.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Eye lid twitching is seen because of spasms of the orbicularis oculi muscle of the eyelids which is supplied by facial nerve.
The commonest cause is called essential blepharospasm where no underlying cause can be found out.
The treatment for the condition is by injection of Botulinium toxin. It is the most commonly performed treatment. I advice you to consult your eye doctor or oculoplastic surgeon for the treatment of the condition.
Thank you
