Have Bump On Tongue. Gets Smaller After Applying Peroxide Or Mouth Wash

Hi. I have a big bump wart looking thing on my tongue that has been here for 2 months. If i apply peroxide or mouth wash everyday it gets smaller but gets big again if i miss afew days. I have kids so it's hard to do that alot during the day. I have looked up oral herpes and am terrified. The bump does not hurt or isn't sore or tender. It is red underneath a whitish top. The white top is more see through like plastic ontop of the red center. I have only kissed and slept with mybaby's father in a year but have drunk after my cousin. helpppp

Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

The bumpy looking thing on your tongue may be simple salivary cyst which gets smaller after the mouth wash, and comes back again after a few days. This is not a serious issue. Just refrain from fiddling it with your teeth as does a sensation of foreign body sensation. If it increases or pains much, then you can talk to your family physician to arrange for an excision biopsy of the growth to know the nature of the swelling so that appropriate treatment can be initiated.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic for clearing doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
