Have Bright Red Nose Bleeds. Been Drinking Water. Should I Be Concerned?

I recently started getting nosebleeds this year; in the past, I've never once had a nosebleed except when I fell flat on my face as a child. I've notice sometime the blood that flows out is sometimes a deep crimson colour and sometimes a bright, cherry red. Sometimes it's even an orangish colour. I considered how much water I drink, but I drink the amount my doctor recommended (eight glasses, but I usually drink more). Is this colour change normal? Should I be concerned?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these nose bleeds. Though most nose bleeds really have no cause and get to be resolve all by themselves, we need to look for common cause and address. If this has not been done, then please ask your doctor to look into.

As for drinking water, it is good to replenish the loss but how much blood do you loss during a bleeding episode? If it is much, then please make sure you get a proper assessment and management. If the volumes are small, then that' is fine.

Also, consider getting iron supplements because repeated losses would eventually lead to anemia unless iron stores are replenished.

I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to request for more information if need be. I wish you the best of health.
Thanks.
