Have Blurred Vision And Headache. Took Meth Earlier. What Can Be Cause For The Blurred Vision?

I tried meth for the first time the Saturday before last , I know it was stupid , I ended up going on a 2 week run with it , I decided to do the last bit I had left Thursday around 9 pm and have the weekend to deal with the hangover , I did a bit more than I usually did just for the last blow out , I had a terrible reaction , I had red splotchy vein like marks appear all over my body and face completely red , I drank a bottle of water and figured tht would help , it has been many many hours by now since I used and I am not being able to crash , my vision is blurred a little and my head feels as though it has a lot of pressure inside , I keep trying to sleep but can't and am beginning to slightly hallucinate , I have drank 3 bottles of water today , eaten and took vitamins along with a nausea pill and I'm still worried , is it possible to have had a heat stroke and not have realized it ..... Could my brain be swollen or damaged making me see oddly ? Or is this all just a bad comedown ? I have no interest in this drug at all after this experience , I just want to get my body heAlthy again .

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Meth contain Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV). Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV) is a designer drug of the phenethylamine class. Meth is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant.

The acute side effects of MDPV include tachycardia, hypertension, vasoconstriction, anxiety, psychosis and sweating.

Following steps will be helpful for you in management:
-Stop Crystal meth use now. Visit nearby psychiatrist.
-Consult general physician to rule out above causes. Investigations like serum electrolytes, liver/kidney function test and other test may be needed in your case, according to examination.
-Maintain adequate nutrition, hydration and drink plenty of water.

Wish you good health and all the best.

Psychiatrist Dr. Seikhoo Bishnoi's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

Meth is a stimulant drug and is a common drug of abuse in youngsters. It cause CNS activation and that results in intense stimulation. It has potential to cause side effects as headache, facial flushing, dryness of throat, nasal stuffiness, blurred vision and restlessness. It increases heart rate and may precipitate panic. It is not a good drug and I would advise you to
- Stop the drug completely and if you experience withdrawal symptoms then visit a Psychiatrist for help.
- Try relaxation exercises to keep yourself calm and to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
- Take plenty of fluids and avoid alcohols or any psychostimulant drug.

Thanks
Dr. Seikhoo Bishnoi, MD
