Have A Small Bump On Lip. Had HSV-2. Will It Spread?

I have a small bump on my lip, not in the corner but on the top lip in the middle of the left side. I thought it was a cold sore but it never tingled or blistered. I have a history of hsv-2 and am very careful during an outbreak , but I have not had one lately. I have taken valtrex for 2 days since I ve noticed the bump. I just want to know if it is a cold sore because I have a toddler and I don t want him to get it.

Hello,
Thanks for the query.

cold sore usually blisters.

Hence the chance for this lesion to be cold sore is rare,

Even then you take precautions,

Dont kiss your toddler until the lesion is healed.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
