Have A Severe Allergic Reaction. Was On Steroids For 3 Days It Had Reduced Later It Started Again. What Could It Be? What Should We Do?

My daughter seems to have a severe allergic reaction, but we don't know what it's from. She is only 7 months old. She got it once about three weeks ago and her pediatrician prescribed three days of steroids, and this past Saturday it came back. Her pediatrician says she has not seen anything like it especially since shes only 7 months and an allergist test is not done until twelve months. What could it be? What should we do?

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Did she have a skin rash?
Is there any breathing difficulty?
Is she having cough?
What type of feed do you give her?

Did you start any thing new recently?
Any new oil or cream or soap etc?

Please reply in detail so that we can help you better.
Avoiding the allergen is the best method. But most of the time we cannot identify the allergen.

Take care.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

In general, the common sources are: ingested - milk in the child / inhaled - dust, air conditioners / contact - clothes, pets, carpets, creams, powders...
One by one elimination and re-introduction may give a clue
Inherited features may have a role?
See an Immunologist...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
