Have A Hard Red Lump Below Breast. Blood And Pus Came Out After Popping. What Could Be This?
i have a hard red lump right below my right breast , I thought it was a zit so I went to go pop it. when I did that nothing happened except I gave it a hole(like after you pop a zit) and it still stayed hard nd red. Tonight I decided to try and pop it again. First I picked the scab off it to make it easier if anything came out, than I started squeezing and a mixture of blood and pus came our. How did I get this infection? And how should i treat it?

You have got breast abscess,your question is how you got it,There are millions of bacteria on surface of skin and breast is full of fatty tissue.Fatty tissue have poor blood supply,bacteria gain entry into fatty tissue through abrasion in skin,through hair root or through blood stream,since as I mentioned fat has poor blood supply it cannot eliminate the bacteria,Bacteria multiply in fatty tissue of breast and result in puss formation.You need cosultation with general surgeon who may drain you breast abscess if required and may prescribe you antibiotics.

This is an abscess . It occurs when bacteria on your skin manage to enter, through a scratch, ingrown hair, gland insect bite or any other way the integrity of the skin barrier is impeded. You need antibiotics, preferably a combination aerobe and anaerobe antibiotics,if this does not clear it in a week then surgical drainage might be necessary . Please do not continue pressing it as trauma to the area might aggravate the abscess , also wash your hands with soap and water before and after dressing the wound. I wish you a speedy recovery.
