Have Pneumonia With Kidney Failing, Legs Swollen And Blood Clot. Cause For This Symptoms?

Hi my name is Kelly and i am wanting to find out something about my uncle who is recently out of hospital with pneumonia and his kidneys were failing few years ago he also had a blood clot, but this week his leg is swollen with a reddish black and blue mark spreading up his leg, can you tell me what this is please if possible? many thanks.

Thank you for the query.

Your uncle can be suffering from Henoch-Schönlein purpura. This disease appears after respiratory tract infection and is caused by autoimmune complexes which do obstruct small vessels causing skin changes, joints pains, abdominal pains and can lead to kidney failure.
