I am sending you impression of MRI report given as under : Diffuse disc bulge with posterocentral disc extrusion is at L4-5 level causing compression of the thecal sac and cauda with compression of bilateral L5 traversing nerve roots in lataral recesses. - Mild diffuse disc bulge at L3-4 and L5-S1 levels with no significant neural compression Please advise if any therapy other than surgery is possible for treatment and pain management . Thanks for posting your query
I had just went through your case and understood that there is compression at lower extremities so please undergo physiotherapy by using shortwave diatherapy,Interferential therapy and also lumbar traction by following spinal extension exercises... The above treatments should be done under supervision of certified physical therapist only and also the person should take bed rest and follow the do"s and dont's
Do's:-1) Take bed rest
2) Use hard mattresses
3) Do spinal extension exercises thrice daily
4) Follow the medication given by the orthopedician
Dont's:-1) Should not bend down
2) Avoid staircase climbing
3) Avoid sitting on floor
4) Choose comfortable position while sitting
