Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The main treatment of L4-L5 impingement depends on the severity of the symptoms and the extent of nerve compression. Usually muscle relaxants and mild pain killers help in case of mild impingement.

Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

The description suggests that you have LUMBAR DISC DISEASE with RADICULOPATHY.

The initial management of your problem will be as follows -

* avoid lifting heavy weights as it imparts more strain on your back
* avoid forward bending activities as it will worsen the disc protrusion
* Use a lumbosacral back support to augment your spinal muscles
* Intermittent pelvic traction to cause a regression of disc
* Maintain optimum body weight,if you are obese
* Physiotherapy to strengthen your back muscles. Physiotherapy has to be done only after the acute pain has subsided.
* Judicious use of analgesics and muscle relaxants.

Find & opt a doctor of your choice by searching on "Google"

Hope this information is helpful. Good day

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
You are suffered from PIVD L4-5 where the nerves get compressed by the protruded disc.
There are several treatment modalities with medicines, physiotherapy and with injections in the back called epidural injections and root/facet blocks.
If you dont get better with these treatment ,I suggest you undergo surgery, by which the nerves are decompressed by removing the protruded disc (discectomy), which would significantly improve your symptoms
You can search on internet for orthopaedic doctor in Colorado Springs.
Hope this helps you.
Wishing you good health...
Regards.
