Have HSV1 Infection And Cold Sores. Taken L-Lysine. Risk Of Getting Argyria By Taking Colloidal Silver?
I suffer from HSV 1 and get cold sores every 3-4 months like clock work. I\'ve tried every prescription and vitamin regiment including L-Lisine everyday and nothing keeps them from popping up when I get a bit stressed. I've read a lot about colloidal silver and wanted the opinion of a healthcare professional. Is there a high risk of getting argyria?

Colloidal silver can cause argyria and as you doubt it may not be a safe treatment. For that matter all metals including gold, etc are considered unsafe as they may build up in the tissues and have side-effects.
For cold sores you may try changing your life-style apart from the antiviral medicines that you may have already tried.
Since cold sores usually accompany common cold it is better to avoid getting one. You will need to improve your immunity by taking more of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Exercise at least 20 min a day. The exercise can include walk, yoga, gym, aerobic, cycling, swimming etc. Take hygienic diet and pure drinking water to avoid other recurrent infections.
