Have Graves Disease. Dizziness, Thyroid Storms. Effects Of Leaving These Conditions Untreated?
I have graves and i need to know what can happen if i don t take my thyroid meds or do the other 2 choices of treatment i already have the problem with my eyes and when i stand up i see silver stars and get dizzy i have also has thyroid storm once so please tell me in detail what will happen if left untreated maybe it will be what i need to hear to get my life together thank you for your time

Good day.
Since you had 2 thyroid storms and have eye disease, it is better to control hyperthyroidism adequately with medicines. If you leave it untreated, you may develop weight loss, palpitations, irregular heart beats ( atrial fibrillation), thyroid storm and even death. Thyroid storm is very dangerous and you may not be lucky to survive it all the time. This is easily prevetabe and please take medicines t avoid it.
If you dont want to take the tablet, the options are surgery and radio iodine treatment. RAdio iodine treatment is dangerous if you have avtive eye disease. Surgery is possible only after controlling hyperthyroidism well with medicines.
Please discuss with your endocrinologist. Help is always available
