thanks for your query.

I think it could be an attack of URTI with Acute suppurative otitis media (ASOM),

ASOM is the condition where there is pus collected inside middle ear and at that time patient feels intense pain and fever, as rupture of tympanic memb. then some amount of bleeding along with pus discharge will occur.

Take any broad spectrum antibiotic like amoxiclav 625 twice a day with anti inflammatory like Tab Chymoral plus, anti histaminics like levocet.

DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO ENTER IN EAR.

many thanks, take care.

ENT Specialist Dr. Vaishali Mehta's  Response
Hello,

From the description, it sounds like an acute infection of the middle ear. An acute infection usually precipitates following a bad or untreated cold. Pain occurs as the the eardrum bulges due to the pus building in the middle ear. The pressure from the pus build up can sometimes rupture the ear drum resulting in a blood tinged or mucus like discharge. The infection needs to be treated with antibiotics, and the ear needs to be cleaned up. He should also prevent water from entering the ear. Hope this info suffices.

Take care
