Has An Overdose Of Lisinopril Caused Tachycardia In One With An ICD Implant?

I may have accidentally been taking 3 doses of lisinopril 2.5 everyday this week instead of one and my heart rate has been up to around 120- 140 when I just walk across the room or stand for just a few minutes. I just discovered the mistake tonight. Could this have caused tachycardia. I have a Icd implanted and only have 20 percent ejection fraction and it has been a tough week requiring lots of rest.

Hello,

Lisinopril is an antihypertensive drug. It reduces blood pressure. So overdose can lead to hypotension.

And hypotension can cause reflex tachycardia as a compensation effect. So your tachycardia is indirectly associated with lisinopril overdose.

Better not to make such a mistake again. Be careful while taking cardiac drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
