hi..thanks for your query.

You have not mentioned the pattern of hair loss you are having. Before starting the treatment of hair loss, it is very important assess yourself completely and have an understanding of the actual cause of hair loss. There may be several reasons:

1)Hormonal factors:The most common cause of hair loss is a hereditary condition called male-pattern baldness or female-pattern baldness. In genetically susceptible people, certain sex hormones trigger a particular pattern of permanent hair loss. Most common in men, this type of hair thinning can begin as early as puberty.

2)Medical conditions:A variety of medical conditions can cause hair loss, including:

-Thyroid problems

-Alopecia areata

-Scalp infections

You should get a complete bloodwork done before you start the next step of treatment. However, its also important to understand that , any treatment of hair loss, in any form of therapy ,requires considerable time and patience to get optimum results.

Hope this helps.Take care!

Hello dear...
Causes of hair loss/thinning of hair are:
1. Environmental factors
2. Stress
3. Deficiency of certain minerals, vitamins & amino acids in diet. e.g. Iron, zinc, Vit B complex, lysine.
4. Hormonal factors. e.g. Testosterone, Thyroxine
5. Any incidence of surgery, shock, etc.

Management includes:
1. Treating the underlying cause
2. Avoidance of stress
3. Dietary modifications
4. Minoxidil solution to be applied locally to stimulate the hair follicles
5. Multivitamin & multi mineral supplementation
But these medications have to be used regularly under the guidance of a Dermatologist...as hair loss tends to return on stoppage of these medications.

Those cases which do not respond to medical therapy, are managed by hair transplantation.
So...it will be better to consult a Dermatologist to find out the underlying cause & start treatment accordingly.
There is nothing to worry...

Wishing you a Good Health. Let me know if I need to clarify further.
Thanks & take care.
