Hair falling out in clumps after bowel resection. Will hair loss stop after body gets sufficient nutrients?

I had bowel resection due to ruptured diverticuli on 5/29/2012, then a small bowel resection a week later after I developed an illeus. I was hospitalized for over 8 weeks and was not put on TPN until 7 weeks after surgery; NS only and NPO for 7 weeks. Now my hair is falling out in clumps. Since I am able to eat now, will my hair loss stop once my body is getting the nutrients it needs?
