Had Unprotected Sex, Taken Ipill. Safe To Take Regesterone To Postpone Periods?
Hi Doc,
I had unprotected sex with my husband on the last day of my period. I took an ipill within 24 hrs to avoid pregnancy. My periods due date is 13th July. I have a function at home on 14th July and I will have to postpone my periods and the doctor has asked me to take regesterone Sandoz 5mg. please let me know (1) if it is safe to consume the tablet.
(2) From how many days should I start taking the tablet to postpone my periods (3) Will it increase the chances of pregnancy considering that ipills might not be 100% effective.

REGISTERONE is absolutely safe and is a widely used drug to postpone th periods.
It is taken in the dose of 5 mg twice a day and started 3 days prior to the expected date of periods.
In your case you should start taking it from 10th of July.
Keep taking this medicine till you want to keep your periods off.
The moment you stop taking REGISTERONE,you get your periods in next 2 to 3 days.
There is no increase in chances of pregnancy as is being feared by you.
The chances of pregnancy in you is nil since you did the sex on last day of period which is supposed to be safe period and at the top of it you took I Pill .
